CASE STUDY #282
A New, High-Profile, and Progressive Venture Tackles a Host of High-Risk Issues
Challenge
Not all organizations focused on improving the welfare of others are nonprofit. This particular start-up is privately held – and passionately committed to providing education, training and employment opportunities to a focused, well defined target audience. The business model espoused by the organization, while transformative and visionary, was however, relatively new and untested – and its new facility, still under construction, confronted a complex and integrated risk environment. Only five months away from ‘opening the doors’ of their new venture, this organization had teams addressing almost all its critical priorities, except security.
Action
The Baghera Group conducted a comprehensive risk assessment that informed our design of a complete physical security plan for a “to be built” venue, clarified staffing needs, and guided projections for year-over-year budget requirements. Separately, we identified and on-boarded best-in-class vendors to become part of the organization’s long-term physical security organization and assisted with recruitment and training of a highly experienced in-house security team. Finally, we authored a crisis management plan and emergency action and response plan to help ensure that responses to incidents directly accelerated and enhanced the recovery and restoration of assets, and enabled business continuity.
Impact
Working quickly and efficiently, given the extremely tight timeframe, The Baghera Group completed the work outlined above on deadline. Armed with clear recommendations supported by a budget proposal and a pragmatic rationale for the investment, the new organization’s leaders gained assurance that they were taking the most appropriate actions in addressing the risks confronting the entity, its mission and its stakeholders. They also agreed that TBG had more than proved its value – and immediately asked the firm to take on several additional strategic engagements.
